Super Saturday

I truly am loving bountiful baskets.  Since Michael had Saturday off, we went together.  He mentioned we should volunteer, so we got up super early and volunteered.
We got there at 6:30 am (yes, dad, I can get up early) dressed and ready to help out.
After bringing in a bunch of boxes of fruits and veggies, someone laid out all these baskets (about 53 participants this week, so there were two hallways with a little over 50 baskets in each hall, set up in this manner).  Then we all were given a task--put two apples in each fruit basket, one cabbage in each veggie, etc.  Michael and I put green beans in bags to be put in the baskets.
We were able to choose two small leftovers or one large (I grabbed two cucumbers).
The rest of the extras were disbursed to the baskets.
We got to grab our basket and we were done.  Sweet.  Check out our loot!
We opted to get the Italian Veggie add-on this week, and with the extra cucumber for volunteering, we really made out with a LOT of food.  I think I will be vegetarian this week just to use this all up!
1 cabbage
2 heads green leaf lettuce
1 lb green beans
2 roma tomatoes
2 pomegranates
4 cucumbers
2 zucchini
2 white onions
1 red onion
1 eggplant
1 lb strawberries
1 head garlic
4 kiwis
2 lb black grapes
3 bananas
7 Gala apples
3 avocados
1 lb mushrooms
1 bunch parsley
1 package of mint leaves
1 package fresh rosemary
1 package fresh savory? (still unsure what this one is, but that's the best my internet searching has found)

Wow.

Then it was home for breakfast and a movie a la redbox (Captain America).
Shower, put away the basket/foodsaver a few things, and make some brownies.
Then, off to the Aquarium!
We were hungry, so we stopped for a late lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, a place I have been wanting to go for a long time (it is like Souplantation).
hahahaha

Then we had a halloween party to go to thrown by Michelle Jenne, whom we love.  Michael was pumpkin Pi (there is a Pi symbol on his back), I was a Leaf Blower (there is a leaf on my wrist and I would blow on it), and Elai was baby Harry Potter (he had a lightning scar on his forehead).

Elai was the perfect Harry.  He was a bit fussy, though, so that was sad.
Until it was time to go.  Then he was a smiley baby.
He did freak out on the way home and we had to pull over and strip him down to the diaper to cool him off.  I hate it when he cries like that!

Good times, and a great day.

He smiles!!!

#2

Elai is in #2 diapers! He had his 2 month appointment yesterday and he is now 11 lb 13 oz & 23 in.
He is in the 50th percentile-ish for head, length, and weight. I feel like he is exceptionally average when it comes to the numbers, but way above average in everything else, especially in how much he is loved. <3

WTP

Michael played Elai the Winnie the Pooh theme song from iTunes recently, and he just loved it! He started smiling and loved it. We played it a few times and every time he just cooed and smiled and was just so happy.

Last night, we rented Winnie the Pooh, the new one, and again Elai was so happy while it was on. This is really a fantastic development. Elai loves music, but this particular music is his favorite.
Just barely, Elai was lying on the bed with us just looking around. Michael started singing the theme song, and he started smiling again!
Moral of the story: Elai LOVES Winnie the Pooh. The new one is hilarious, too. So, we love it as well. We are a pooh-lovin' family.
