It's been a while. . .

A lot has happened in the past month! Sorry we haven't updated. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • We went to Cedar City on the 18th and 19th with the sole purpose of finding an apartment for the move at the end of December.
  • We found an apartment on that trip! It is two bedrooms, one bathroom. It has a washer and dryer, central air and heat, and lots of natural light despite it being a basement apartment. Best part is the price: $450 a month! We love it.
  • We then took a trip to Colorado for Thanksgiving and time with Vicky, Aaron, and Stuart. ;)
  • We flew from Provo to Denver, rented a car, and had a blast. Elai had his first plane trip and he did extremely well. He slept through the turbulence and everything.
  • Colorado was awesome. We had a black friday adventure at REI (we thought there was going to be a door-deal, but there wasn't), went to the zoo, went in the hot tub, found a great delivery place that has indian food as well as pizza and sandwiches, went to old town fort collins, made pies, had turkey dinner, watched cheesy abcfamily movies on netflix, took a tour of the budweiser factory, went to the flagship REI in Denver, saw the Denver temple, had brats at this christmas market, saw a giant blue bear, ate at Panera, dessert at See's candy, and then were exhausted as we flew home.
  • The flight home wasn't as easy because Elai was hungry and we didn't have a way to defrost the milk and I wasn't about to feed him on a plane full of strangers. Yikes. I am so not that talented yet.
  • Elai has learned to laugh. He laughs almost as much as he cries--sometimes he laughs more, which is music to my ears.
  • Elai got his first haircut! I know, most kids don't get a haircut until they're like a year or something, but his hair started to get in his eyes it was so long. :) He looks handsome and odd. hahaha. It scared me, but I think it turned out ok.
  • Michael had a lesson on how to cut my hair and we gave each other haircuts the other night. :D It scared me at first, but he listened well and I am very happy with the result! My hair is thinner (it has to get thinned out if I want to spend less than an hour on it to make it look good) and has less of a mullet look to it. We saved a good 30-40 dollars by cutting each other's hair, so I say it was a big win for us!
  • I quit my job at sharkrobot. I just felt like I needed to be home with my family right now. It was a great move and I feel at peace about it, even though the extra money was nice.
  • We are slowly getting our stuff packed up into boxes. We had most of it in boxes already, but now we are downsizing and making sure that the stuff packed in each box is similar in nature (no books with the kitchen utensils), which is how it was before.
  • We are almost done with this packing up, which is good because we are moving the day after Christmas! Hooray!
  • We are both done with our shopping and wrapping for the season, but now we have to wait two weeks before giving the presents! Torture! hahaha. Not really--I am totally exaggerating.
We are so blessed this season to have such wonderful people in our lives that help us as we learn to be good parents.
Elai and Michael on the plane ride to Colorado. :) So cute!!!
his "Favorite Aunt Vicky" holding him and making faces. Elai was distracted by us despite Vicky's best efforts to entertain, as you can see.
dressed all dapper for thanksgiving
possibly the cutest picture ever
